The Wood
Working closely with both local and regional wood suppliers, I am able to ensure that every piece of wood that goes into your project is both sustainably harvested and of the highest quality with respect to color, grain, and strength.
It is my firm belief that proper attention to wood selection and use is not something to be approached as an afterthought, but given primary consideration with regards to both structural integrity and aesthetic continuity. Rest assured that the piece that I am building you to last for generations does not come at a cost to those same future generations.
Your Choice Of Wood Species
At AedanWorks I work with primarily North American hardwoods. Specifically those that are harvested in the Eastern United States. These woods include: Black Cherry, Black Walnut, Hard and Soft Maple, Red and White Oak, Poplar, and Ash.
In many instances, examples of several different species can be combined to create an appealing and unique look.
Special Wood Species
Some species of woods offer very dynamic grain patterns that curl, wave, blister, stripe, and just generally look amazing.
For a truly dramatic addition to your project, consider adding some wood with extra visual appeal.
